Winter Storm Monday/Weather Advisories Issued

Thunder Snow?

A Winter storm is scheduled to produce a wide swath of 1-3" of snow across the Tri-State area with locally higher amounts of 4"+. There may also be some thunder snow with this system which could cause an area to receive even higher amounts. While it does not look like a big storm to most of the experts we are continuing to watch this system. Here are a few key factors:

* Snow will be wet with temps. appraoching 32°

* Snow will be coming from the Southwest with Gulf moisture

* A period of sleet or freezing rain or drizzle may mix in

* Storm track/Further North means more snow than expected

* Snow could have major travel impacts in the afternoon hours

* Snow may end with a period of freezing drizzle
